About ProdView

An engineering manager and a security engineer walk into a bar.

They had both, independently, deployed three different employee-monitoring tools at their previous jobs. They had both, independently, walked out. ProdView is the workforce-analytics platform they wished had existed — privacy-first, manager-centric, no leaderboards.

01 · Why we exist

Workforce analytics was built for the wrong customer.

The category we found in 2022 optimised for one buyer: the executive who wanted a "productivity score" leaderboard to wave at their board deck. Every tool we evaluated had a screen full of red and green bars ranking employees by minute. Every one of them recorded keystrokes "for compliance". Every one of them eroded trust the second they were deployed.

That's the wrong customer. The buyer who actually opens these tools every day is the line manager — the one with five to fifteen direct reports who wants to know who needs a 1:1 this week, who's heading for burnout, and whether the fleet is healthy. That manager doesn't need a leaderboard. They need a Friday-morning briefing.

ProdView is that briefing. We took every screen out that didn't serve a real management conversation, and we built the ones that did.

02 · What we believe

Three principles we won't bend on.

VAL.01

Symmetric visibility.

Every employee sees exactly what their manager sees about them. Bit-for-bit. This is the line. It's why we don't ship a "shadow mode" and never will.

VAL.02

Explainable metrics.

Every number in the product can be traced back to the events that produced it. We don't ship a "productivity score" that's a black box. If you can't explain a number to the person it's measuring, it shouldn't be in the dashboard.

VAL.03

Slow, deliberate scope.

We've turned down keystroke logging, screen recording, sentiment analysis, AI summaries, and a "burnout score" — all customer-requested. The product gets better by saying no.

05 · Backed by

Investors who buy the principle.

We picked investors who got the privacy-first thesis on the first call. They've been patient about scope and loud about saying no with us.
